Teaching Tools

We provide a variety of tools and resources, both on and off line, to help teachers with their planning and day-to-day work.  Please select from one of the areas below:

  • New! Online Correlations: Each Heinemann-Raintree Classroom book is written with an eye to key curriculum standards.  This Fall, we have started working with Academic Benchmarks so that you'll find complete, up-to-date correlations of our books to every state's education standards!
  • New! Leveling: Use our upgraded online leveling tool to determine what products meet your specific leveled needs:  Grade Level, Age Level, Hi-Lo Levels, Accelerated Reader© ATOS Levels, and Guided Reading Levels. (Lexile Levels will be added in the coming months.)
  • Graphic Organizers: Use our printable graphic organizers to help facilitate your student’s understanding of key nonfiction concepts.  These ready-to-use graphic organizers will help students organize ideas and communicate what they have read more effectively.
  • Teaching Notes: Great nonfiction books teach themselves...up to a point.  Heinemann-Raintree Classroom moves beyond those limits with Teaching Notes that support the instruction of text structures, text features, comprehension, and vocabulary.
  • North Carolina Science Collections:  Download custom PDF document that provides a complete list of custom Science Collections that are Leveled and Correlated for Grades 6-8 for North Carolina Competency Goals, along with special order form.
  • Kentucky Support:  Download a Kentucky Health & Practical Living Guide for Grades 1 through 12, and custom documents that support core content for Kentucky Math and Science.
  • California ELA/ELD: Download correlations and find your local sales representative.
  • English Language Learners (ELL): Many of our nonfiction titles support ELL programs.  We've assembled many of the tools and support materials that you'll need to order and use our books as supplemental ELL materials in your school or district.
